description
The Lindensee is located in the forest north of Kahl am Main. To the south is the larger lake Freigericht-Ost with the Kahler campsite . The eight- hectare Lindensee is part of the Kahler Lake District . It was created in 1970 through gravel mining . Before the start of gravel mining, there was a swampy area where peat digging was carried out at today's location of the lake . The Weihergraben ran through this area in the direction of the Schifflache . The Lindensee belongs to the nearby Emmerichshofen Castle as a private property . A holiday home colony has been located on the south-west bank since 1968, in a Scandinavian style. There is a connection to the Schloßsee .
