Lisa Marangon (born June 12, 1980 in Sydney ) is a former Australian triathlete .

Career

In 2003 she was able to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii for the first time and she was second in the age group 18-24 years.

Professional triathlete since 2004

Lisa Marangon started as a professional triathlete in 2004.

In 2009 she was seventh at the Triathlon World Championship on the long distance. In Lake Placid, she was third in the Ironman USA in July 2010 (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). Lisa Marangon was trained by Xavier Coppock .

Doping ban 2016

In January 2016, she was tested positive for the East Asia steroid, which can be used for muscle building, during a doping control after the Challenge Melbourne and was banned by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) for four years. Marangon denied all guilt and said she was the victim of an act of sabotage. The then 36-year-old then announced her retirement from professional sport.

Lisa Marangon lives in Sydney with her son.
