The number of asteroids increases rapidly the smaller the size becomes. For example, there are 12 other main belt asteroids between 200 and 224 km in diameter.
There are only a few large asteroids in the region near the Sun (up to 2.5 AU). Only Vesta and Metis made it into the list above.
Asteroids with large orbital inclinations
Asteroids with orbital inclinations of more than 90 ° move retrograde (retrograde, i.e. against the direction of rotation prevailing in the solar system) around the sun. Only a small number of such asteroids are known.

Others
- (136199) Eris is almost as big as Pluto .
- 1998 WW 31 is the larger object of the first double system discovered after Pluto-Charon.
