In the list of architectural monuments in Gersheim , all architectural monuments of the Saarland community of Gersheim and its districts are listed. The basis is the publication of the state monuments list in the Saarland official gazette of December 22, 2004 and the current list of sub-monuments of the Saarpfalz district in the version of August 9, 2017.

Catholic Church of St. Wendelinus The simple hall building was built in 1801 as a cemetery chapel, expanded in 1922 and a tower with a square floor plan was added. 1950 to 1953 the church had to be renovated after being damaged in the Second World War. Station reception building The station was opened on March 1, 1879 as a through station for the Bliestalbahn from Zweibrücken to Saargemünd. The station building was not built until 1885. The three-storey plastered building with segmented arched windows and a hipped roof has a corner projection on the north-west corner on the platform side. The axially symmetrical side of the street has two strongly protruding corner projections. The five-axis facade has windows with round arches, which are particularly emphasized. In the middle axis is the former main entrance to the train station, which used to occupy all three axes of the central building. A strongly profiled cornice runs over a narrow base. Former synagogue After Gersheim received an independent Jewish community in 1885, a synagogue was built in 1889/90 , to which a religious school was also attached. However, as a result of emigration and emigration, the community became very small from 1900 and finally dissolved in 1914. The synagogue was closed in 1908 and sold in 1917. In 1919 it was taken over by a master mason who converted the building into a residential building. Kreuzkapelle in the cemetery The former pilgrimage chapel is now in the middle of the village cemetery. From the previous building a stone with the year 1504 has been preserved in the choir. Catholic Church of St. Martin with furnishings Medelsheim had a Gothic church as early as 1350, but in 1772 it had to give way to a new building due to its dilapidation and rapid population growth. Only the choir has survived to this day. The new baroque style church was completely destroyed in World War II. Only the surrounding walls of the nave and the tower could be preserved. Between 1947 and 1949 the church was rebuilt. In 1953 the tower was raised and the emergency roof replaced by a tower helmet. In the sacristy, the choir of the former Gothic church, layers of lime loosened during the Second World War due to the effects of the weather, revealing Gothic frescoes from the 14th century. In 1954 these were extensively restored and the Gothic tabernacle with a small vault and an oculus were uncovered. chapel The Lady Chapel was built in 1816 and expanded and rebuilt in 1856. During the Second World War, the chapel was destroyed, renovated in 1968 and redesigned in the process. The church with a three-sided choir is still inspired by the forms of the Baroque . There is a round window above the unadorned entrance portal. Flour mill with equipment There has been a flour mill on Bischof-Weis-Straße since 1660. Around 1885, Jakob Folz from the Drehbrunnerhof bought the Wilbert family's mill. It has been family-owned since then. The mill was rebuilt between 1928 and 1930. However, it was damaged in the Second World War and had to be renovated from 1948. In 1966 the mill was stopped. The inventory has been preserved to this day. The facility is around 100 years old and comes from the company Hipkow & Co from Gassen. The mill ditch with the turbines and all the machines, the double roller mill with the grist mill and the smooth roller side for flour, the mixing silo for flour, the grist mill and the silo for bran have been preserved. Wayside cross The richly illustrated sandstone cross dates from the 18th century and was restored in 1999. On the weathered base, Katharina with a wheel and a second figure can be seen. Parish church of St. Markus with furnishings, tower 12th century, nave 18th century (individual monument) The hall church was built in 1790/91 according to plans by Peter Reheis . The oldest part of the church is the Romanesque round tower on the east side of the nave. It was built around the year 1000 as a sandstone defense tower. From 1488 the tower was first used as a church. Today there is a baptistery in the tower, which can be reached via a connecting passage through the church. The interior of the church is from the late baroque / rococo period . The furnishings include a late Baroque pulpit by Johann Martersteck and a Baroque high altar, which was created around 1780. House, 1847 (single monument) The gable, two-story building was built in 1847 below the Church of St. Markus. There are eight window axes on the long side. The building is entered via a pyramid staircase in the fourth axis. The portal with a wide wooden door is flanked by two pilasters with a protruding roof. In the closing field above the door there is a laurel festival with the year and initials. On the ground floor above a high plinth, the tall rectangular lattice windows with shutters have been preserved. The gable roof is covered with beaver tails. In the 13th century the church received a tower with a gable roof, which was raised in 1768. In the years 1778/79 the nave was extended by a baroque hall . In 1895, based on designs by the architect Wilhelm Schulte sen. a choir in neo-Romanesque style was added and a side aisle was added to the west in 1927/28. Brewery cellar of the Walsheim brewery, 19th century (individual monument) Only part of the vaulted cellar of the Walsheim brewery, founded in 1848, has been preserved. All other buildings of the company, which was once one of the largest breweries in Saarland, were demolished in the early 1980s. The vaulted cellar with 16 domes protrudes from the ground as a single-storey building with a plinth and has small square windows. It used to be used as a warehouse and is now a place of culture. Catholic Church of St. Pirminius Until the construction of St. Pirminius, the Catholics in Walsheim had to share today's Evangelical Church of the village as a simultaneous church with the Evangelical Christians. Between 1851 and 1856 a church was built in the neo-Romanesque style. The simple hall building with five window axes has a tower with an entrance portal that is integrated into the front of the nave. Parish church with parish and parish house, tower 12th century, choir 15th century, nave 18th century (individual monument) From the once Romanesque church only the old square tower with a double-sided gable roof is preserved.
