Ensembles

Ensemble Lindauer Strasse

Oberstaufen - Lindauer Str Nr 16 Ri Zentrum.JPG

In the area of the mentioned properties in Lindauer Straße, the main axis of the former “Untere Fleckens”, the original character of the old market town of Oberstaufen has remained vivid. While the development of the former "Oberen Fleckens" between the church and the Schloßberg has undergone major changes and losses since the end of the 19th century due to the development of tourism and the spa business, the building fabric within the ensemble extends into the first phase of renovation after the fire from 1680 back (half-timbered house Lindauer Straße 1). The subsequent development of the 18th / 19th Century, shingled block buildings with largely preserved flat roof pitch, loosens towards the west, whereby the diverging property lines result in an attractive graduation of the mostly gable-side houses. Part of the ensemble is also the courtyard-like expansion of the street space to the north between Lindauer Strasse 4 and 6, which is closed by the back gable front of the house at Am Seelesgraben 2. When looking to the east into the narrowing street section, the Gothic tower of the parish church outside the ensemble speaks as a strong accent. The Marian Column, erected in 1877, emphasizes the plaza-like character of the western section of the street. File number: E-7-80-132-1

Ensemble Weiler Osterdorf

Oberstaufen - Osterdorf v O (sw) .JPG

The area of the mentioned farmhouses with the associated land is of importance in terms of settlement history and is therefore an ensemble. - The valley of the Konstanzer Ache (Konstanzer Tal) stretching east of Oberstaufen between Staufener Berg and Alpsee, developed since Roman times as a connection from Tyrol to Lake Constance for through traffic and goods traffic, received the parish of St. Johann im Tal in the 13th century around which a church village is grouped. To the east of this parish “Thal-Kirchdorf”, the village of “Oster-Dorf” developed, which, along with the other, widely separated villages and hamlets of the Konstanz Valley, belonged to the municipality of Thalkirchdorf, which was also politically formed in 1918. The housing stock, which was renewed in the early 19th century and has hardly increased since then, with evenly laid out first courtyards, still shows the special character of the Osterdorf settlement today. In a uniform ridge-parallel arrangement, the farmhouses, mostly block buildings with a medium pitched gable roof, are lined up along the street. The gable side faces east throughout, the windowless side with a clapboard screen faces west, while the residential and commercial areas are each accessed from the eaves facing the street. Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
