Wildranna

location object description File no. image
Town center
( location )
Ensemble village center Wildenranna The ensemble shows with impressive clarity a village complex that was rebuilt after a major fire in 1898.

The place is on a slope above the Rannatal in the southern Bavarian Forest. The forty or so farm properties are closely related to a long meadow, which stretches from the inn in the east to the parish hall in the west and whose lower and upper terrace-like part adapts to the terrain. The northern row of properties is thus higher than the southern row. The courtyards are mostly hook-shaped; the mostly plastered residential stables, which were mostly rebuilt in 1898, are two-story and one-story, and their gables face the green. Plaster structures, granite door frames and some old front doors are the only decorations of the otherwise simple houses. To the rear are wooden barns with tiled roofs, which are of major importance for the townscape - especially when viewed from the south. Orchards and house gardens are subordinate to the individual properties, and the area itself is enlivened by trees. The dominant building of the ensemble is the parish church, which towers behind the courtyards, in front of the free ridge and was built in 1904-06 in Romanesque and Gothic styles.

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
