only rehabilitated post mortem in 1995.

Floridsdorf Synagogue / Floridsdorfer Tempel - memorial plaque Upload file

Floridsdorfer Tempel
Andreas Streit (1840–1916)
Here stood a synagogue built by Andreas Streit between 1875–1877.
In the night of 9./10. November 1938, the Nazi regime initiated
a pograom directed against the Jewish population, which was
cynically and belittlingly called "Reichskristallnacht"
. Almost all synagogues and prayer houses were destroyed.
This church was used as a magazine and
was bombed in the spring of 1945. Over 65,500 Austrian Jews
fell victim to the Shoah.
This is the location where formerly stood Andreas Streit`s
synagogue built 1875–1877. The Nazi-organized pogrom direct-
ed against the Jewish population during the night of November
9th / 10th 1938, cynically trivialized as "The Night of Broken
Glass", resulted in the destruction of nearly all of the city's
synagogues and prayer-halls. This place of worship was subese-
quently uses as a warehouse and bombed in 1945. Over 65,500 Austrian Jews would fall victim to the Shoah.

Memorial stele for Lovara, Roma and Sinti at Ringelseeplatz Upload file

Lovara, Roma, Sinti at Ringelseeplatz
Around 1920 Lovara-Roma, mainly horse traders from
Hungary, immigrated to the Vienna area and settled at Mühlschüttel in
Floridsdorf. We remember the victims of the Nazi era from the
ranks of the Floridsdorf Lovara Roma and the Sinti vom Bruckhaufen.
Until the early 1960s, the Ringelseeplatz was an important meeting point and a place to live together for
Roma, Lovara, Sinti and showman families traveling through Austria .
In 1920 some members of the Lovara-Roma group, predominantly horse
traders, immigrated from Hungary to Vienna and settled in the Mühl-
schüttel area in Floridsdorf. We commemorate the Lovara-Roma from
Floridsdorf an Sinti of Bruckhaufen who were victims of the Nazi terror.
The Ringelseeplatz was the site of temporary encampments and an im-
portant meeting place where Roma, Lovara, Sinti and exhibitors traveling through Austria met and mingled.
