List of the jury presidents of the Berlinale

There has been an international jury at the Berlinale since the 1956 Berlinale . From 1952 to 1955 , the winners were determined by a public vote. There was only a national jury at the 1951 Berlinale . With the rise to the A-Festival this had to be changed. Since 1956, the Berlinale has been on a par with the Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival .

Americans were most frequently entrusted with the office of jury president (16 times), followed by the British (eleven times), French (eight times) and Germans (seven times).
