Cellar alley mill |
KG: Obermarkersdorf location |
This cellar lane, named after a former water mill, lies far outside the village in a north-westerly direction. Many of the properties are still managed and mainly serve as wine taverns.
Kellergasse Rosenau |
KG: Obermarkersdorf location |
The Kellergasse extends along the L 1065 leading from Obermarkersdorf to Weitersfeld. It is located far north of Obermarkersdorf and consists of commercially used, unused press houses that have been converted into residential and leisure facilities. Schmidbaur viewed it together with Sandweg as a cellar lane system in which he recorded 67 objects over a length of 400 meters, around two thirds of which were in the form of a shield wall, and seven with residential use. He named the oldest dating from 1920.
Kellergasse Sandweg |
KG: Obermarkersdorf location |
Parallel to Kellergasse Rosenau, to the north of this, Kellergasse Sandweg runs, whose use largely corresponds to that of Kellergasse Rosenau. Schmidbaur and Rosenau viewed them as a cellar lane system in which he recorded 67 objects over a length of 400 meters, around two thirds of them in the form of a shield wall, and seven with residential use. He named the oldest dating from 1920.
Moat |
KG: Schrattenthal location |
In the Schrattenthal moat, houses and wine cellars alternate. Some of the cellars are built in front of press houses, others are in the residential buildings and are accessed from the street. Schmidbaur distinguished two one-line Kellergassen: moat , on a ground edge, with 22 buildings (including converted twelve) to 150 meters in length and an oldest dating from 1947, and Hintaus , (including converted six) of terrain edge and in the plane 16 buildings 100 meters long and the oldest dating from 1809.
Kellergasse Hannel – Mühle |
KG: Schrattenthal location |
The Kellergasse is located south of Schrattenthal, about 750 meters from the outskirts in a valley of the Schrattenbach. The cellars are partially dilapidated or so overgrown that they are no longer visible.
Waitzendorf cellar lane |
KG: Waitzendorf location |
The Kellergasse is located on the north-western outskirts. There are only a few press houses here, as the cellar tubes usually lead directly behind a high fortification wall or behind a brick cellar porch, a so-called "Vorkappl", into the mountain. Schmidbaur counted 39 cellars in the form of a shield wall and seven cellars with eaves-mounted press houses on a total of 700 meters in the back and on the road towards Untermixnitz. |
