The cellar lane is a bilateral cellar lane system in a ditch and ravine location. It consists of 45 buildings and is 380 meters long.

The path was originally called Pittnerberg after the cellar of Franz Pittner , and since 1996 the path has been named after the Finkenstein castle ruins, which were then owned by the investor in a residential building .
