Overall system
Overall system Driedorf, entire facility Driedorf
location
The entire Driedorf complex includes the part of the town center that goes back to the planned reconstruction after the fire of 1819. The townscape shows a line-shaped development with a constant alignment of the ridge in a northeast-southwest direction on a network of wide streets that intersect at right angles. With the exception of the course of the Schloßstraße and the two castles, elements of the older townscape have not been preserved, the city walls were laid down in 1819, and the settlement area was considerably expanded. Within the uniform street network, a wide, formerly tree-lined square stands out to the north of the church, to which the newly built church, consecrated in 1827, with a central projection on its northern longitudinal front refers. When the farms were rebuilt, the tradition of the single house was abandoned, living and farm parts were arranged in separate rows, as can be seen particularly clearly in the Weiherstrasse area. This change is associated with the new "planning authority", the ducal government in Wiesbaden, which may not have been so familiar with the local ways of living and farming in the Dill area. The entire complex was identified due to its historical significance.
