Evangelical parish church Hohler Weg

The core of the late Romanesque choir tower from the third quarter of the 13th century. The church was redesigned in 1914-16. In the west a new barrel-vaulted chancel was built against the nave; the former chancel on the ground floor of the choir tower with groin vaults and seating niches became the entrance hall. Furthermore, the southern longitudinal wall was demolished and a side aisle was added, which, in its external appearance, adjoins the gable roof of the older ship with two mid-level houses. During the redesign in 1914-16, late Gothic wall paintings from the second half of the 15th century were uncovered: on the north wall there is a representation of the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Adoration of the Three Kings and St. Christopher. The second, upper row of images on the north wall depicting the creation of man, the fall of man and the expulsion from paradise was transferred to the east wall with the triumphal arch. The paintings on the broken south wall (carrying the cross, preparation for the crucifixion) were placed in the new west choir. At its core, it is a medieval building with valuable painting.

location
Offenbach lies on the northern slope of the Aartal. The town's ground plan is initially determined by the Koblenzer Straße running in a west-east direction, parallel to the Aar, from which the rest of the village area is accessed like cells. The place is characterized by the wealth of rural half-timbered buildings predominantly from the 18th century. out. The town hall on the northern outskirts, the nave of the church, which is medieval in its core, and the Aartal bridge all date from the same period. The site thus combines a large variety of different building types from a uniform period of origin on a remarkable floor plan structure. The core area of Offenbach was therefore designated as a complete facility due to its historical significance.
