Eisemroth (as Isemerrode), first mentioned in 1276, is a clearing settlement on landlord property of the von Bicken family. In the course of the Dernbach feud, a castle was built by the Hessian landgraves on today's Kirchberg in 1307, but it was destroyed again by Nassau in 1328 (see above and district history). In 1434 one of the first iron works in the county of Nassau-Dillenburg was built in Eisemroth. However, it only had until the end of the 15th century. Duration. The historic townscape west of the Kirchberg is shaped by the valley location along the Siegbach. Two core areas with very dense historical buildings from around 1700 stand out: the northern course of Herborner Straße and the Brunnenstraße / In der Gasse / Moselstraße area. A garden zone means that the division of the town into Ober- and Nieder-Eisemroth, which dates back to the 14th century, is still present. The two districts only grew together in the 18th century. The Eisemroth facility as a whole comprises the Kirchberg, the Brunnenstrasse / In der Gasse / Moselstrasse area with the garden zone to the north and parts of the development along the Siegbach. The areas mentioned convey different stages in the history of Eisemroth's settlement.

From the 16th century, courtyards were built outside the castle, thus laying the core of the town of Tringenstein. The entire complex includes the area of the town center, which is characterized by rural buildings from around 1700. You lie around the castle hill with the ridge parallel to the slope. To the southeast of the center of Tringenstein lies the site of the former Tringenstein Castle on a mountain cone of the Schelder Forest. Only remnants of the foundation walls and a round arched gate opening in the northern castle district and the striking location, which offers a delightful view of Tringenstein and the surrounding landscape of the Schelder forest, are preserved. The castle was built in 1351 by Adelheid von Nassau, a countermeasure to the foundation of Neu-Dernbach (see district history and "Dernbacher feud"). Under the care of several noble families, the castle becomes the seat of the court. With the end of the Middle Ages, the castle lost its function as a defense structure, but remained the destination of hunting trips during the Nassau rule and was also the short-term residence of Johann IV and Johann V von Nassau-Dillenburg. From the 16th century, courtyards were built outside the castle, the core of the town of Tringenslein. In the 17th century - during the Thirty Years' War - the castle was a refuge for the surrounding towns; In 1625 Count Ludwig Heinrich moved to Tringenstein after the plague broke out in Dillenburg. The castle's final decline began in the 18th century: the offices of Tringenstein and Ebersbach were merged, and the official seat was moved to Ebersbach. The castle has been without function since then and the decay began. The only use today is a memorial built on the eastern edge of the castle district. The area with the ruined remains of Tringenstein Castle is a cultural monument due to its historical significance.

The place Wallenfels goes back to 1300, when the castle Wallenfels was built by Heinrich I of Hesse on a mountain cone southeast of the Angelburg. The construction served to support the Dernbacher in their dispute with Nassau. After the defeat of the Dernbach family in 1333, the Hessian landgrave gave the castle to Nassau as a fief. In the following years the owners changed in quick succession. The castle fell into disrepair from 1500 after losing its strategic value. The castle was probably also the painting site of a court. The settlement developed at the foot of the castle hill. The character of Wallenfels as a small settlement based on a castle is still clearly visible today: Untergasse and Obergasse surround the castle hill. A special feature of the settlement history is the large number of two- and three-sided courtyards from the 18th century, especially in Obergasse and the north-eastern end of Untergasse.
