The list of parties in the German Bundestag contains all parties that were ever represented in the German Bundestag . Parties currently represented in the Bundestag are shown in bold.

- Social Democratic Party of Germany (since 1949)
- Free Democratic Party (1949–2013 and from 2017), also as DVP / BDV / DPS
- The Greens (since 1983), since 1993 Alliance 90 / The Greens (with parliamentary groups 1983–1990 and since 1994)
- Party of Democratic Socialism (since 1990, with parliamentary groups 1998–2002 and since 2005), since 2007 Die Linke

- Christian People's Party of the Saarland (1957 as CSU in Saarland; 1959 merger with CDU)
- German Union (1972 on the CSU state list; MP transferred to the CSU in 1974)
- Work & Social Justice - Die Wahlalternative (2005 on the lists of the Left Party; 2007 merger with Die Linkspartei.PDS to Die Linke)
Mandates obtained through secondment
From 1949 the members of the Bundestag West Berlin were not directly elected, but appointed by the Berlin House of Representatives . After reunification , 144 members of the People's Chamber of the GDR were sent to the Bundestag until the 1990 Bundestag election.
