The Allentsteig parish church , consecrated to St. Ulrich , is located opposite the castle and is separated from it by the moat. Allentsteig is first mentioned as a parish on the occasion of the separation from the mother parish Altpölla in 1132. The Romanesque choir tower church with a baroque east tower, which was expanded several times by extensions, was regotified in 1904.

The present castle was built in the 11th / 12th. Erected as a fortification in the 19th century and converted into a Renaissance castle from 1544 to 1570. The command of the Allentsteig military training area is currently housed in the castle .

The settlement consists of 10 brick double houses as well as 20 double houses and 3 single houses made of wood. They were built in 1938/39 as army quarters according to the Wenzl-Hartl system . The houses stand on a concrete base with stone masonry to protect them from soil moisture. They have a uniform floor plan. The spacious living area suggests that the houses were intended for senior officers. The entire settlement is also under ensemble protection .

The house at Wienerstraße 35 on GstNr. .370 fell out of monument protection in 2013.

The Meierhof (also: lower castle or Schlössl ) below the castle is connected to it by a covered corridor. It was built at the end of the 15th to the middle of the 16th century. It is a horseshoe-shaped complex with a large courtyard and is enclosed by extensive farm buildings. The gate tower with a basket arch portal and stone framing is marked 1525. Above it is a coat of arms of the Hager family marked 1646. A two-story residential building with a stair tower and courtyard arcades from 1546 adjoins it to the east. A former tower from the end of the 15th century rises in the east corner. Further farm buildings are further farm buildings from the 17th / 18th century. Century, in whose west wall remains of the medieval city wall are preserved. On the ground floor of the residential building there are mesh vaults and Renaissance mirror vaults with the coat of arms of the Hager from the middle of the 16th century, as well as baroque stucco mirrors on the upper floor.

The simple, rectangular chapel was built around 1870 and restored in 1981. The presented west tower with a pointed gable helmet was built in 1907. The interior is covered by a needle cap barrel. The furnishings include a baroque wooden altar with cartilage, a trinity group in a niche from the end of the 17th century and a late baroque Madonna on the globe from the second half of the 18th century.

The local chapel of Reinsbach is a simple building from the mid-19th century with a rounded end. A wooden roof turret was replaced by the presented west tower in 1949. The flat-roofed interior is equipped with a neo-Gothic altar and a carved wooden Pietà with the year 1771.

The former local chapel of the evacuated village of Steinbach was built in 1858 as St. Thomas Chapel. The outer front of the building with a drawn-in, three-sided end, pilaster strips and a western roof turret with a gable helmet is pierced by a pointed arch portal and pointed arched windows with ornamental stained glass .

The local chapel of Thaua is a north-west oriented, rectangular building from the end of the 18th century with a semicircular end and a tower with a gabled spire that was added to the south and replaced the original wooden tower in 1922. The flat-roofed interior is equipped with a stone statue of Johannes Nepomuk from the second half of the 18th century and a simple, neo-Gothic altar.

It is said that Swedish soldiers are buried under the Swedish Cross. In 1645 the city of Allentsteig was besieged by the Swedes. They destroyed the city in such a way that only a few houses were preserved and only a few residents remained alive. The need was extremely great. The Swedish drink (boiling liquid manure) was poured into peasants' mouths if one could get hold of them. Houses were looted and set on fire. Over time, the Swedish Cross had sunk into the field and was only dug up again in the 1920s.

The former local chapel of the evacuated village of Wurmbach was built in 1753. It has a ridge turret with an onion helmet on the east side, a curved gable, a segment arch portal, a retracted semicircular apse, arched windows, some of which have plug-in lattices and a basket-arched triumphal arch .

The Zwinzen local chapel, built in 1853, is a simple building with a three-sided end, pilaster strips and roof turrets with an onion helmet over a curved gable. The niche above the portal houses a figure of St. Joseph . The post-classical columnar altar with Pietà in the vaulted interior dates from the middle of the 19th century.
