The Lloque district is located in the General Sánchez Cerro province in the Moquegua region in southwestern Peru . The district was established on February 2, 1956. It has an area of 255 km². The 2017 census counted 604 residents. In 1993 the population was 638, in 2007 it was 1376. The district administration is located in the 3256 m high village of Lloque with 319 inhabitants (as of 2017). Lloque is 48 km northeast of the provincial capital Omate .
Geographical location
The district of Lloque is located on the southern flank of the Cordillera Volcánica in the northeast of the province of General Sánchez Cerro. The Río Tambo flows south along the western district boundary.
The Lloque district is bordered to the west by the district Ubinas , on the north by the district Yungas , in the northeast and the east by the district Ichuña and the south by the district Chojata .
