The railway line Tršnice – Luby u Chebu is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated as a state-guaranteed local railway Tirschnitz – Wildstein – Schönbach (Czech: Místní dráha Tršnice – Vildštein – Schönbach ). It runs in western Bohemia from Tršnice ( Tirschnitz ) via Skalná ( Wildstein ) to Luby ( Schönbach ).

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

On October 16, 1898 "was the Heinrich Edler von Mattoni , kaiserl. Town council and estate owners in association with the district chairman Johann Seidl in Wildstein, the mayor Karl Habermann in Schönbach and the k. and k. Kämmerer Engelhardt Count Wolkenstein-Trostburg the requested concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the Tirschnitz station on the Komotau-Eger line of the exclusive. priv. Buschtěhrad Railway via Wildstein to Schönbach ”granted. Part of the concession was the obligation to start construction of the line immediately and to finish it within a year and a half. The share capital of AG Lokalbahn Tirschnitz – Wildstein – Schönbach was 760,400 kroner in 3221 ordinary shares of 200 kroner each and 581 priority shares of 200 kroner each.

The line was opened on June 30, 1900. The kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) ran the business on behalf of the owners. In 1912, the local railway timetable indicated four pairs of 2nd and 3rd class passenger trains. They needed 65 minutes for the 25-kilometer route in both directions. After the First World War, management was transferred to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). On January 1, 1925, the Tirschnitz – Wildstein – Schönbach local railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.

At the end of the 1920s there was a significant compression of the timetable as well as a significant reduction in travel time to up to 45 minutes. Mostly modern motor trains were now used. The winter timetable of 1937/38 recorded a total of nine pairs of trains on the Cheb – Schönbach u Chebu route.

In the imperial course book the connection was now included as KBS 422f Eger – Tirschnitz – Schönbach. After the end of the Second World War , the entire line came back to the ČSD.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).
