The 2008 London Marathon was the 28th edition of the annual running event in London , United Kingdom . The marathon took place on April 13, 2008 and was the first World Marathon Majors of the year.

Martin Kiptoo Lel won the men in 2:05:15 h and Irina Mikitenko won the women in 2:24:14 h.
