The Longeau rises in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park , in the Côtes de Meuse natural landscape , in the municipal area of Hannonville-sous-les-Côtes , initially drains in a north-westerly direction, then swings to the northeast and, after 38 kilometers, flows into the municipal boundary of Friauville and Conflans-en -Jarnisy as a left tributary into the Yron . On its way, the Longeau crosses the Meuse and Meurthe-et-Moselle departments .
