Longwood Medical and Academic Area
The Longwood Medical and Academic Area , also LMA or Longwood is the official name for a medical campus in Boston in the state of Massachusetts of the United States , which as an informal because of its size district applies - the official website of Boston does not have the geographic area as such . The term should not be confused with the "real" part of Longwood in Brookline, directly across from the Muddy River .
The campus runs in the Boston metropolitan area along Longwood Avenue from Huntington Avenue to Riverway through the neighborhoods of Fenway – Kenmore and Mission Hill . In addition to the Harvard Medical School, there are many other medical facilities and hospitals on the site , as well as museums , colleges and research facilities.

Local transport
The LMA is served by two train stations at opposite ends of Longwood Avenue . The stop Longwood is the MBTA Green Line D approached the stop Longwood Medical Area through the Green Line E . There are also bus routes into the neighborhood, and shuttles provide direct links to Harvard and MIT for employees .
