The book was originally supposed to be filmed in 2010 by the Japanese director Sion Sono ; a screenplay was written by Hans Fjellestad . Jackson Rathbone , known from the Twilight series, was originally hired as a Vikernes actor, but he canceled again. The other roles should be determined through castings, which should take place exclusively in Norway. Samoth's former wife Andrea Haugen was supposed to contribute to the soundtrack .

background

  • Before the beginning of the plot there is an introduction: “ The following film is based on true events and in no way intends to endorse or glorify the actions or statements of the people portrayed. In its relentless, provocative-real staging, the film tries primarily to portray current affairs and to give a lasting warning. "
  • In the scene in which Euronymous, played by actor Rory Culkin , wakes up on a bunk bed in his record shop and puts a white Burzum demo cassette into his Walkman , his buddy Faust is watching the splatter film Braindead on a television on the lower mattress by director Peter Jackson from 1992. A movie poster for the horror film Halloween by director John Carpenter from 1978 hangs on the wall above the television set .
