Lore Brunner

Lore Brunner (born October 2, 1950 in Mölbling , † July 17, 2002 in Berlin ) was an Austrian theater actress.

Life

Lore Brunner received her training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz .

She made her debut at the Stadttheater Basel in 1973 with sensational success in the role of Christine in Arthur Schnitzler's Liebelei . In 1975 she went to the Stuttgart State Theater to the famous Peymann Ensemble, where she played the title role in Kleist's Käthchen von Heilbronn, along with many others  .  

From 1979 she played at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , where she stayed until 1986. She played Marie in Büchner's Woyzeck , Warja in Der Kirschgarten von Chekhov and the solo role Max Gericke in a jacket like pants , a piece written for her by her partner Manfred Karge , which was premiered in 1982. With this one of her star roles, she made guest appearances all over the world for years. In 1981 she presented Karl Kraus ' extensive drama The Last Days of Mankind to the Bochum audience in 23 readings .  

In 1986 Lore Brunner went to the   Burgtheater in Vienna and played, among others, Die Mutter von Brecht and Medea von Jahnn. In 1989 she played Pushkin's Mozart and Salieri together with Tilda Swinton in a production by Manfred Karge , which was shown alternatively in German and English in Vienna, Berlin and London.

In 1986/87 she made a guest appearance at the Schauspielhaus Köln. She played Mrs. John in Gerhart Hauptmann's Die Ratten , Yvette in Bertolt Brecht's mother Courage and her children and Medea by Hans Henny Jahnn .

From the mid-1990s she worked as a freelance artist and performed in Zurich, Paris, Weimar, Geneva, London and Berlin, among others. With the Merlin Ensemble Vienna she gave numerous guest performances with The Story of the Soldier by Ramuz / Stravinsky.

Lore Brunner died in 2002 of cancer. Her grave is in the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof in Berlin.

Lore Brunner's niece is the actress Eva Brunner .
