Career

Loren Morón is the son of the father of the same name , who was also known as Loren Morón as a football player. In his 18-year career as a central defender, he played over 350 games in the first and second Spanish division and was active for UD Salamanca , Sevilla FC and Recreativo de Huelva , among others . Loren Morón was born just like his father in the Andalusian city of Marbella .

He played for the youth teams of CD Peña Los Compadres, UD Marbella and CD Vázquez Cultural before moving to the fourth division Unión Estepona in 2012 . There he made his debut in Spanish men's football on September 1, 2012 in the 1-0 defeat against CD El Palo . On September 30, he scored his first competitive goal for Estepona in a 4-1 home win over FC Vélez .

In January 2013 he returned to his hometown club UD Marbella , for whose predecessor team CA Marbella his father had already played. With Marbella he made it into the third-class Segunda División B in his first season 2013/14 . On July 8, 2014, he was loaned to fourth division club FC Vélez for one year. For Vélez he scored 14 times in 21 league games.

On January 29, 2015, he moved to the second division Betis Sevilla , where he was immediately assigned to the reserve team. He was convincing with the B-Team and contributed 13 goals in the 2015/16 season to preventing his team from relegation. After the season, his contract was extended to 2018. On May 14, 2017, he scored a hat trick in the 7-1 away win at CA Espeleño .

On January 30, 2018, Loren extended his contract until 2021 and was promoted to the first team of the Béticos . By then he had netted 17 times in 23 missions for the reserve in the third division. He played his first game in the Primera División on February 3 against Villarreal , where he scored both goals in a 2-1 home win. He scored again in his second outing against Deportivo La Coruña . A double in the 3-1 away win at Deportivo Alavés sealed Loren's meteoric rise in the LaLiga. In his first half of the 2017/18 season, he scored seven league goals in 15 appearances. On July 30, 2018, he renewed his contract and is thus tied to Betis until 2022. The contract also includes a release clause of 60 million euros. In the 2018/19 season, Loren scored six goals in 33 league games.

The 2019/20 season got off to an excellent start for Loren. Already in the 1: 2 home defeat against Real Valladolid on August 18, 2019 (1st matchday), he was able to score a goal after being substituted on. In the 2-5 defeat against FC Barcelona a week later he scored again, his third goal of the season followed again a week later in a 2-1 home win against CD Leganés . On the 4th matchday he not only stayed in the 1-1 draw at home against Getafe for the first time without a goal in this season, but also flew in the 90th minute for the first time after receiving the straight red card. After his return, he shot the Béticos with a brace for a 3-1 home win against the UD Levante . He was then unable to maintain his goal rate and therefore lost his regular place at the turn of the year, but was still used regularly. In 36 league games, he scored 10 times this season. On June 5, 2020, he extended his contract prematurely until summer 2024.
