Lorenz Hecher

Lorenz Hecher (born September 1, 1946 in Giggenhausen , Bavaria ) is a former German wrestler.

Career

Lorenz Hecher grew up near the Upper Bavarian wrestling stronghold Hallbergmoos , 30 km north of Munich . As a child he joined the local wrestling club SV "Siegfried" together with his brother Alfons, who was three years older than him . In the youth and junior sector, there have not yet been any great successes at German championships. However, he remained loyal to wrestling and was rewarded with 3rd place in the light heavyweight division at the German championships in 1970 in Freiburg im Breisgau . Lorenz Hecher, who was only medium height for a heavyweight at 1.76 m, wrestled almost exclusively in the Greco-Roman style. At the international level he did not succeed in winning a medal, but he achieved excellent results with a fourth and a fifth place at world championships and a fifth place at a European championship. He won the German championship title three times.

Lorenz Hecher moved with his brother Alfons to ASV Schorndorf and wrestled there in the Bundesliga . However, he returned to Upper Bavaria and fought for SpVgg Freising for a few more years . Lorenz Hecher is a farmer.
