Focus Acquires secured the distribution rights for Italy. A first trailer for the film was published in March 2018. The film was released in Italian cinemas on April 24, 2018 and in German cinemas on November 15, 2018. In September 2018 a screening took place at the Toronto International Film Festival , also at the Filmkunstmesse Leipzig , at the beginning of October 2018 at the Filmfest Hamburg and later in October at the Film Festival Cologne . In October and November 2018 there were screenings at the Tokyo International Film Festival in the World Focus section.
