Lost Soul is a Polish technical death metal band that was founded in 1990 in Wroclaw .

history

The band was founded in 1990 by guitarist and singer Jacek Grecki, bassist Tomasy Fornalski and drummer Adam Sierżęga. The first songs were recorded in the studio two years later and released on the Eternal Darkness demo . Another demo, Superior Ignotum , was released in 1993 in the Czech Republic . Lost Soul signed a contract with Baron Records in 1995. In addition to the material recorded for Superior Ignotum , there were two songs from the first demo. A short time later the band stopped their activity because of the disagreements that occurred between the members of the band.

1997 Lost Soul became active again with the new guitarist Piotr Ostrowski. A year later a new demo ... Now is Forever was recorded in the Selani Studios in Olsztyn . Tomasz Fornalski later left the band and was replaced by Krzysztof Artur Zagórowicz, who was also active with Shemfahorash. During this period, Lost Soul's activity increased, the band played with Dying Fetus , Monstrosity and Kataklysm and also took part in the Obscene Extreme and Silesian Open Air festivals. In 1999 … Now is Forever was released as part of the compilation Disco's Out, Slaughter's In , published by Novum Vox Mortis. The same thing happened with ... Now is Forever on Relapse Records ' Polish Assault record in the same year.

In 2000 the debut album Scream of the Mourning Star was released in Poland by Metal Mind Productions and on the international market by Relapse Records . This album was positively received by both critics and fans. Two years later, in May 2002, Lost Soul signed a contract with Empire Records, where in August 2002 the second album Übermensch (Death of God) was released. A few months later Osmose Productions released the album worldwide.

In October 2002 Lost Soul played together with Monstrosity , Vomitory , Trauma , Dissenter, Skeptic and Contempt in ten of the largest cities in Poland. Shortly afterwards, Krzysztof Artur Zagórowicz left the band for personal reasons. He was replaced by Paweł Michałowski. In this line-up the band took part in the "Hell Festival" together with KAT and Ancient Rites .

In 2003 Lost Soul appeared alongside bands like Hell-Born , Quo-Vadis, Samael , Marduk , Vader , Saxon and Malevolent Creation . After the release of the second album on March 3, 2003, Lost Soul went on the Empire Invasion Tour with Dies Irae , Hate and Esqarial . Paweł Michałowski left the band immediately afterwards, but was replaced by the former Lost Soul member Tomasz Fornalski. The third album Chaostream , released in April 2004, was recorded with this line-up. On this the band used seven-string guitars for the first time. In July of the same year Tomasz Fornalski left Lost Soul for good and was replaced by Damian "Czajnik" Czajkowski. In October 2003 the band played at the Blitzkrieg II festival together with Vader, Ceti and Crionics and performed in 17 Polish cities.

Chaostream was released by Wicked World Records , a subsidiary of Earache Records . The cover was designed by the Greek artist Seth Siro Anton. The band went on three successive tours to promote the album: the Mega Strike Europe in Chaos Tour in April and May 2005 together with Fleshgore and Sanatorium in a total of 23 cities in 10 European countries, the Summer Tour 2005 with Vader and Desecration (10 appearances in 3 countries) and Blitzkrieg III in over 48 cities in Europe. Lost Soul shared the stage with bands like Anorexia Nervosa , Rotting Christ and Vader.

In 2006 Lost Soul broke up when Adam Sierżęga and Piotr Ostrowski left the band. In 2008 Lost Soul became active again with the new drummer Krzysztof "Desecrate" Szałkowski (Naamah, Pyrrhoea , Gortal). In early 2009 Dominik "Domin" Prykiel joined the band as the second guitarist; With this line-up, the band began to work on their fourth album, Immerse in Infinity . This was released on October 6, 2009 by Witching Hour Productions. In collaboration with the Endorfina team, the first official music video for the song ... If The Dead Can Speak was created . The band played songs from their current album live for the first time at two concerts on the Blitzkrieg V tour together with Vader and Marduk.

In 2010 Lost Soul took part in eleven concerts on Rotting Christ's Aealo Tour . In summer 2010 the band performed at the 15th Brutal-Assault in the Czech Republic and played in the opening act for Bolt Thrower and Gojira . In 2010 the band celebrated its 20th anniversary in the Madness Club in Wrocław under the name Genesis - XX Years of ChaoZ , which will also be featured on their next best-of album. Together with Lost Soul, bands like Trauma, Hermh , Crionics , Gortal, Extinct Gods and FAM performed.
