Lothar Wesseler (born January 21, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player . In the 1973/74 season, the striker completed 17 games for SC Fortuna Köln in the Bundesliga and scored four goals.

Career

The 18-year-old from Wessel came to Eintracht Gelsenkirchen from SV Rotthausen for the 1972/73 season in the West Regional Football League . On the first day of play, July 30, 1972, he made his debut under coach Heinz Murach in a 2-2 away draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Regionalliga West. At the side of Günter Thon and Günter Pangerl , the offensive talent completed 29 games and scored seven goals. FC Saarbrücken in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he could only play one league game due to injury and ended his career as a licensed player.
