The Celestyal Crystal is a cruise ship operated by Celestyal Cruises . The ship was built in 1991/1992 on the hull of the Sally Albatross, built in 1980 as the Viking Saga .

Since the old hull was reused, the Sally Albatross is legally the same ship despite the extensive conversion and continues to have the same IMO number . On March 23, 1992 the newly built ship was delivered. It was initially used for cruises on the Baltic Sea and to Tallinn . On March 4, 1994, the Sally Albatross ran aground in an ice-covered sea. The ship was towed to the Vuosaari shipyard, where the most necessary repairs were carried out from April 20th.
