Luís Victor Sartori (born August 30, 1904 in Caxias do Sul , Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil , † April 10, 1970 in Santa Maria ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Santa Maria .

Life

Luís Victor Sartori studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in São Leopoldo . He received on January 9, 1927 the Archbishop of Porto Alegre , João Batista Becker , the sacrament of Holy Orders . He then became a chaplain at the Nossa Senhora Madre de Deus Cathedral in Porto Alegre .

On March 4, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Montes Claros . The Archbishop of Porto Alegre, Alfredo Vicente Scherer , donated him episcopal ordination on June 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Santa Maria, Antônio Reis , and the Bishop of Pelotas , Antônio Zattera .

On January 10, 1956, Pius XII appointed him. the titular bishop of Celerina and Coadjutor Bishop of Santa Maria. Luís Victor Sartori became Bishop of Santa Maria on September 14, 1960, succeeding the late Antônio Reis.

Luís Victor Sartori attended the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
