Ludwig Ernst Christian von Kyckpusch
Ludwig Ernst Christian von Kyckpusch (also: Kykbusch or Kykpusch , born February 25, 1774 in Rudolstadt , † September 3, 1827 in Breslau ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the Silberberg fortress .
Life
origin
His parents were Christian Josias von Kyckpusch and his wife Luise Karoline, born von Boeltzig, a daughter of the chief hunter von Böltzig from Merseburg. His father was princely court and consistorial councilor of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and vice-consistorial president in Frankenhausen am Kyffhäuser.
Military career
Kyckpusch was taught at home until the age of 12 and then came to Homburg vor der Höhe . On November 1, 1788, he became a private corporal in Infantry Regiment No. 5 . There he became portepeefähnrich in 1790 and ensign on January 14, 1792. During the First Coalition War he fought in the battle of Kaiserslautern and in the battles near Vicogne, St. Amand, Valenciennes, Famars, St. Imbert and the siege of Landau. During that time he was promoted to Second Lieutenant on February 20, 1794 .
In 1801 he was sent to the General War School in Berlin. On March 1, 1803 he became Premier Lieutenant and came March 20, 1804 as an adjutant to the General Staff . On June 19, 1803 he was appointed to the full lieutenant quartermaster. On October 20, 1805, he became a captain of the general staff and a real lieutenant quartermaster in the corps of General Rüchel, but on September 1, 1806, he joined the Wartensleben division as a general staff officer. In the Fourth Coalition War he fought in the battle of Auerstedt , escaped to Magdeburg, where he went into captivity after the surrender.
After the Peace of Tilsit he was appointed major in the General Staff on December 26, 1807. On May 5, 1808, he received the Order of St. Anne II. Class and on December 26, 1808, he joined General Blücher's corps. On November 6, 1809, he was appointed head of examinations for army officers. On March 4, 1812, he came to Russia as a general staff officer in the cavalry division of the Prussian army corps. During Napoleon's Russian campaign in 1812 , he fought in battle near Friedrichsstadt, for which he received the order Pour le Mérite on December 14, 1812 . On March 6, 1813, he came as a battalion leader to the reserve battalion in Prussia, on July 21, 1813, he became a general staff officer in the Puttlitz division on the Lower Elbe and on August 11, 1813, he became a lieutenant colonel.
During the wars of liberation he fought in the battles near Luckau , Königsborn, Hagelberg and the sieges of Magdeburg and Wesel. For Wesel he received the Iron Cross II. Class and the Swedish Order of the Sword .
On March 30, 1815 he came as a commandant in the fortress Pillau , but already on May 18, 1815 he was released from the position and came to the III. Army Corps . On May 31, 1815 he was promoted to colonel , resigned from the General Staff on June 11, 1815 and was assigned to Lieutenant General Johann Adolf von Thielmann for special use. But on October 5, 1815, he was appointed commandant of Trier and on November 27, 1817, he was transferred to Silberberg. There he was promoted to major general on March 30, 1820 with a patent on April 7, 1820. On July 26, 1825, he received the service cross before he died on September 3, 1827 in Breslau.
family
He married on December 26, 1809 in Königsberg Kathrina Charlotte Raabe (born March 19, 1785 - † November 23, 1837), the eldest daughter of the car manufacturer and church director Erdmann Raabe. On January 19, 1828, the king gave the widow 300 thalers with the remark that this should be seen as proof of his participation.
