Luigi Maffeo

Luigi Maffeo (born December 24, 1915 in Occhieppo Superiore , Biella Province , Italy , † May 7, 1971 in Biella ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic military archbishop of Italy .

Life

Luigi Maffeo studied philosophy and catholic theology at the seminary in Biella. He received on 26 June 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Maffeo then worked as parish vicar in Lessona before becoming private secretary to the Bishop of Biella , Carlo Rossi , in 1940 . In 1942 Luigi Maffeo became diocesan assistant to the Catholic Youth and Subregens of the Biella Seminary. From 1945 to 1955 he was the rain of the Seminary of Biella and 1955-1960 Rector of the Sanctuary of Oropa . Subsequently, he served as Vice Offizial the church court for the Church Piedmont before joining in 1965 on October 2, pastor of the parish of San Paolo was in Biella.

On January 16, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Castellum in Numidia and the military archbishop of Italy. The Bishop of Biella, Carlo Rossi, ordained him episcopal on March 6th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Changsha , Secondino Petronio Lacchio OFM , and the Bishop of Pavia , Carlo Allorio .
