Luis María Altamirano y Bulnes (born August 27, 1887 in San Andrés Chalchicomula , Puebla , Mexico , † February 7, 1970 ) was Archbishop of Morelia .

Life

Luis María Altamirano y Bulnes received on 22 March 1913, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On August 3, 1923, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the bishop of Huajuapan de León . The Archbishop of Michoacán, Leopoldo Ruiz y Flóres , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19, 1924 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Zamora , Manuel Fulcheri y Pietrasanta , and the auxiliary bishop in Mexico City , Maximino Ruiz y Flores . On March 13, 1933 Pius XI appointed him. to the bishop of Tulancingo . The inauguration took place on June 4th of the same year.

On May 1, 1937 Pius XI appointed him. the Titular Archbishop of Bizya and ordered him to Koadjutorerzbischof of Morelia. Altamirano y Bulnes became Archbishop of Morelia on December 12, 1941, succeeding the late Leopoldo Ruiz y Flóres.

Luis María Altamirano y Bulnes attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
