Lysá hora (German Kahler Berg) is a mountain in the Czech Republic . The 1,344 meter high peak is located in the western part of the Giant Mountains near the state border with Poland .
The mountain forms a flattened crest between the neighboring elevations Kotel ( 1435 m nm ) and Plešivec ( 1210 m nm ). Nearby places are Rokytnice nad Jizerou , Harrachov , Špindlerův Mlýn ( Spindleruv Mlyn ) and the Polish town of Szklarska Poręba ( Schreiberhau ).
The summit is overgrown with mountain pines . On the mountain slopes there are open areas with subalpine nebula grass and large stands of protected mountain flora such as the daffodil anemone and the pasque flower . Spruce forests grow in the lower parts .
Lysá hora is located in protection zone I. of the Giant Mountains National Park . The summit or the highest point is not open to the public. A chairlift from Rokytnice leads up to 200 meters to the top. A marked cross - country ski trail begins there . The lift is only in operation in the winter season. The Rokytnice - Horní domky ski center is located on the south-western slope of Lysá hora with numerous slopes and mining areas, of which the Dvoračky lodge (founded in 1707) is the oldest and most famous.
