MPS 1270

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MPS 1270 was the first inkjet printer that Commodore brought out as part of its MPS series . Its print image was very frayed and low in contrast even on special paper , and it was relatively slow at 28 CPS (characters per second) ( NLQ mode ) and 160 CPS ( draft mode ) . On the other hand , compared to the dot matrix printers of the time , it was relatively quiet, nothing more than a faint hum of the print head could be heard.

There were two versions of this printer. The MPS 1270 only has one Centronics connection . The MPS 1270A, on the other hand, also offers a serial Commodore bus connection . This enables the device to be connected to a Commodore computer ( C64 , C128 etc.) as well as to a PC or Amiga .

The same printheads are used as in the HP ThinkJet / Quietjet (HP51604A).
