MPS 802

The MPS 802 was a 9-pin printer from the manufacturer Commodore , which was brought onto the market in 1984. The original name of the printer was VC-1526 and 1526, respectively . The two printers MPS-802 and 1526 are identical except for the two labels on the front and back. MPS stands for Matrix Printer Serial, a name from Commodore. The result it is from the CBM 4022 / 4023 of the PET was created generation and another parallel GPIB ( IEEE-488 possessed). This resulted in the 1526 (with a serial interface ), which kept surprising with new capabilities.

The MPS 802 is controlled by a 6504 processor that is compatible with the 6510 software. There are two 6532-RIOT (RAM input / output timers) and one 6522 VIA (Versatile Interface Adapter) on the motherboard . The operating system is located in an 8 KByte EPROM of type 2764.
