Madonna and Child (Cussac-Fort-Médoc)
The sculpture Madonna and Child in the St-Symphorien Church in Cussac-Fort-Médoc , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in the 15th century. In 1979 the Gothic sculpture , which was originally located in the Lanessan Castle, was added to the list of listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .
The stone sculpture is 1.10 meters high. The baby Jesus is sitting on Mary's right arm , who has a crown on her head, and is holding her feet with her left hand. Maria breastfeeds the child with her right breast.
