Madonna and Child in Lignan-de-Bordeaux

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Ste-Eulalie church in Lignan-de-Bordeaux , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in the 19th century. In 1988, the Baroque- style sculpture was added to the list of listed buildings ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The 86 cm high sculpture made of wood is gold-plated. Mary holds the baby Jesus on her left arm, which has the globe in her hands. Mary and the child have similar facial features. The many folds of Maria's dress give her appearance a fullness.
