Mahamanjushri-Nagarkot ( Nepali महामञ्जुश्री – नगरकोट ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .

The city is located in the northeast of the district Bhaktapur , bordered to the southwest by the district capital Bhaktapur . It was created at the end of December 2014 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Bageshwari , Nagarkot , Sudal and Tathali . The urban area covers 34.7 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the city of Mahamanjushri-Nagarkot emerged, had 22,908 inhabitants (10,927 of them male) in 4,936 households.
