Makád is a Hungarian municipality in Pest County , about 60 km south of the capital Budapest and 10 km from Ráckeve . It is located on the Csepel Island , which is surrounded by two arms ( Small and Great Danube ) of the Danube . The area is characterized by lakes, forests and meadows. A 550 hectare nature reserve consists mainly of reeds and forests. The area around Makád offers recreational opportunities for nature lovers and is ideal for anglers.
