Szigetszentmárton is a Hungarian community in the district Ráckeve in Pest County . The community name can be translated as Saint Martin on the island .
Geographical location
Szigetszentmárton is located in central Hungary 28 km south of Budapest , 10 km south of Szigethalom and 7 km north of Ráckeve on the 48 km long Csepel Island , which is formed by the Danube and the left eastern branch Ráckevei-Duna or Little Danube . This island begins south of the city center of Budapest and is populated with several localities, including the two cities already mentioned Szigethalom and Ráckeve. Like these two places, Szigetszentmárton is also located on the banks of the Little Danube .

From the Halásztelek junction on the M0 Budapest ring road , it is 20 km to Szigetszentmárton. To the west of the municipality, the road no. 5101 passes, which runs lengthways over the Csepel Island and connects all the island places to the north with a bridge over the Little Danube to the city center of Budapest. The closest bridges to the left eastern bank of the Danube are in Szigethalom and Ráckeve. Szigetszentmárton has a train station on the route of the island railway from Ráckeve to Budapest.
