Manfred Stelzer (director)

Manfred Stelzer (born September 22, 1944 in Göggingen ; † May 12, 2020 in Berlin ) was a German director and screenwriter .

Life

Stelzer began his filmmaking career with documentaries . In 1980 he received the Federal Film Prize for the film Monarch . He became known as the director of the cult film Superstau . Most recently he made a name for himself with his humorous interpretations of various crime series. His Tatort films with Jan Josef Liefers and Axel Prahl and various Police Call 110 episodes stand out.

Manfred Stelzer was a lecturer at the German Film and Television Academy and lived in Berlin.
