history

Mamoas and other findings indicate a prehistoric settlement from the Chalcolithic period up to the Celtic Castro culture . In the Arab period, a Moorish fortification is said to have existed at what is now Castêlo .

In the registers of 1527 the community of Mansores was kept with 52 households, in 1758 489 inhabitants were counted here.

Mansores is a parish ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Arouca , in the district of Aveiro . It has 1081 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
