Manuela Mader (born December 13, 1990 in Malsch , Karlsruhe district ) is a German chess player . In 2009 she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) from FIDE .

Manuela Mader attended the Eichendorff-Gymnasium in Ettlingen , where her favorite subjects were English , biology and chemistry . At the age of nine she learned to play chess from her father and older brother Michael. Michael and her younger brother Markus are just like them a member of the SK 1926 Ettlingen. Her trainers were Faruk Osmanovic, Philipp Schlosser and Nikolaus Sentef. She has been training with Roman Vidonyak since 2004 .
Youth tournaments (selection)
Her first participation in a German youth championship was in Überlingen on Lake Constance in 2000 , when she reached 73rd place in the U10. In 2002 in Winterberg she was already third behind Melanie Ohme in the German Championship for women under 12 years of age.
Manuela Mader achieved her first major success at the Baden U16 championship in 2003 when she was first. In 2003 in Willingen she won silver at the German Youth Championship U14w, this time again behind Melanie Ohme. In 2003 at the German youth championship in Kassel , she got 7 points from 7 games for the Baden team, who were runner-up. In 2005 at the German Youth Championship U16w, she took silver again behind Melanie Ohme. She also received silver at the U16 Youth Olympics in Novi Sad. In 2006 at the German Youth Championship U16w she was again second, this time behind Judith Fuchs . In 2006 at the European Youth Championships for girls U18 in Novi Sad she reached 5th place. In 2008 at the German Youth Championships U18w, she took 3rd place behind Melanie Ohme and Diana Hannes.
In 2008 at the European Youth Championships for girls U18 in Herceg Novi , she got 5.5 out of 9.
Women's Open and Tournaments (selection)
As a ten-year-old girl she took part in Group E of the 1st German Amateur Championship . In December 2001, with 3.5 points from 5 games, she was the best lady of all opening groups in Aalen . In 2002 in Leipzig she got 4 points from 5 games in the final of the first German amateur championship, which was enough for a third place (equal on points with the first two). Florian Dinger was first in the ranking.
Her first big success was when she was first in the 2004 Baden Women's Championship ahead of Anna Rudolph . She played at the German women's national team championships in 2003, 2004 and 2006 when she won the German runner-up with Baden in Braunfels . At the German women's individual championship 2005 in Bad Königshofen , which Sandra Krege won, she was eighth.
She achieved the greatest success of her chess career so far when she won the SAP WIM tournament for women in Walldorf in 2006 with 7 points from 9 games and achieved her first WIM standard. In 2007 she played at the 8th European Women's Championship and got 5 out of 9. At that time Tatiana Kosintseva won tied with 8 points ahead of Antoaneta Stefanowa and Hoàng Thanh Trang . In 2011 at the 8th LGA Premium Cup in Nuremberg , won by Grand Master Tornike Sanikidse from Georgia , she got 4 points from 7 games.
In 2009 Manuela Mader was named International Women's Champion (WIM), having achieved the required standards at the 2006 SAP tournament in Walldorf and at the 2008 Women's Chess Olympiad in Dresden .
National team
Manuela Mader played at the Chess Olympiad 2008 in Dresden on the third board of the second German women's team and scored 7.5 points from 10 games. In 2007 she took part as reserve player at the European Women's Team Championship in Heraklion .
societies
Mader plays with SK Ettlingen in the Baden Verbandsliga Nord (as of the 2018/19 season), she has also played with SK Neuhausen in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the 1st women's league she played from 2005 to 2007 as a guest player for SV Walldorf , from 2008 to 2013 and since the 2015/16 season as a guest player for the Karlsruhe Chess Friends . In the Austrian women's Bundesliga, Mader will play for SK DolomitenBank Lienz in the 2019/20 season .
