Marcelo Moreno Martins (born June 18, 1987 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra ) is a Bolivian - Brazilian soccer player .
Career
society
Moreno made his professional debut at EC Vitória in 2005 . There he made his breakthrough and moved to the Brazilian top club Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte for the 2007 season . In 2008, the striker moved from Cruzeiro to Shakhtar Donetsk for a transfer fee of nine million euros and signed a five-year contract. For the 2009/10 season he moved to Werder Bremen on loan, who agreed but did not take advantage of a subsequent option to purchase and a contract until 2014.
On August 2, 2009, Moreno made his competitive debut in the first round of the DFB Cup when he came on in the 79th minute against double-goal scorer Boubacar Sanogo . In the encounter against 1. FC Union Berlin , the attacker scored his premier goal for Werder and set the end of the 5-0 win with another hit. However, after he did not perform as expected in the further season, he was sent back to Donetsk during the winter break of the 2009/10 season after only five Bundesliga appearances, which only a short time later awarded him again to the English first division club Wigan Athletic . From 2012 to 2014, the Grêmio Porto Alegre held his transfer rights. In 2014 he was loaned to the Cruzeiro EC, with which he became national champion that year.
After working for Changchun Yatai , Wuhan Zall and Shijiazhuang Ever Bright FC in China from 2015 to 2019 , he returned to Cruzeiro in 2020 to support him in the fight for promotion to the Série A.
National team
Born the son of a Brazilian and a Bolivian, Martins first played in the U-20s of Brazil , but in 2007 he decided to join the Bolivian national team . In the historic 6-1 victory over the Argentine national team in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup , he scored the first goal.
