Margherita di Savoia is an Italian commune with 11,626 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani , Apulia region . Before 2008, the municipality was part of the Foggia Province . The municipality is located on the Adriatic coast northwest of Barletta . One of the largest salt pans in Europe is located in the northwest of the municipality .
The neighboring towns of Margherita di Savoia are Barletta (BA), Trinitapoli , Zapponeta and Canosa di Puglia (BA). Former TV presenter Gabriella Carlucci was mayor between 2010 and 2012 . In 2013, after a transition phase, Paolo Marrano followed.
