Marie-Anne France Jacqueline Chazel (born September 19, 1951 in Gap , France ) is a French actress , screenwriter and film director .

biography

Marie-Anne Chazel is the daughter of the actress Louba Guertchikoff and the pastor Paul Chazel. She has two sisters and one brother. In 1967 she began studying at the Lycée Pasteur de Neuilly-sur-Seine . She studied together with Michel Blanc , Gérard Jugnot , Thierry Lhermitte and Christian Clavier . After graduating, she studied history and geography for two years before starting a theater engagement at the théâtrale du Splendid in 1974 .

Chazel made her film debut as an actress at the side of Pierre Richard , Miou-Miou and Jean-Pierre Marielle in the 1976 comedy A Clumsy On A Wrong Path, directed by Georges Lautner . Parallel to her work on stage and in film, she made her debut as a screenwriter in 1975 with the short film Le bol d'air . This was followed by other scripts with Die Strandflitzer , Sonne, Sex und Schneegstöber , Since Santa Claus and The Revenge of the Blondes before she made her debut as an auteur filmmaker with the short film Le coeur sur la main . She made her feature film debut in 2004 with the comedy Au secours, j'ai trente ans! .

Chazel was married to the French actor Christian Clavier, with whom they have had a child since 1983. A second child died shortly after birth in 1999. The marriage was divorced in 2001 after over 30 years. Since then she has lived with Philippe Raffard.
