description

A Romanesque chapel on site was first mentioned in 1411, which at that time still belonged to Lobenstein . The apse in the east with its small windows and the rectangular choir under the choir tower come from the late Romanesque building . The old triumphal arch has also been preserved. After indulgences from 1452 to 1464, building activity began. The nave was built in its current size. During this time it got new windows.

Today's hall church has a rectangular nave , which is covered with a hipped gable roof . The flat ceiling of the interior as well as the enlargements of the windows and the structure of the church tower are from 1683. The choir tower got a slate-roofed tower on which a two-tier hood sits. A morgue was later added to the north . The simple interior is now separated from the choir square by means of the neo-Gothic pulpit altar . The galleries are two-story. In the apse there is a winged altar with carved, colored reliefs from the beginning of the 16th century. The predella shows the death of Mary, the altarpiece shows the coronation of Mary , the right wing shows the Annunciation and the left wing shows the burial of Mary.

The organ was built in 1860 by Karl Friedrich Peternell instead of a predecessor from 1705. It has 8 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal .

In 1829/30 the church was structurally overhauled and given a white interior painting.
