Marija Anatoljewna Ovtschinnikowa ( Russian Мария Анатольевна Овчинникова , English transcription Mariya Ovchinnikova ; born October 19, 1998 in Temirtau ) is a Kazakh long and three jumper .

Athletic career

Marija Ovtschinnikowa gained her first international experience at the 2015 Asian Youth Championships in Doha , where she won the gold medal in the triple jump and the silver medal with the Kazakh sprint relay (1000 meters). At the Youth World Championships in Cali , she finished seventh in the triple jump final with 12.94 m. In 2016 she won the silver medal in the triple jump at the Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City , finished eleventh in the long jump and fifth in the Kazakh 4 x 100 meter relay. At the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , she was eighth. In 2017 she won the gold medal at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and thus qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 13.18 m in qualification . At the Student World Games in Taipei two weeks later, she finished fifth in the final. At the beginning of September she won the silver medal behind her compatriot Olga Rypakowa at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat .

In 2018 she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where she finished fourth with 13.00 m. The following year, she was eighth with 13.37 m at the Summer Universiade in Naples .

In 2017 and 2019 Ovchinnikova became Kazakh champion in long and triple jump, and in 2018 and indoor champion in long jump and in 2020 in triple jump.
