Marija Sergejewna Schorez ( Russian Мария Сергеевна Шорец , international transcription: Mariya Sergeyevna Shorets; born August 9, 1990 in Leningrad ) is a former Russian triathlete . She is aquathlon world champion (2016) and was a member of the national team until 2017.

Career

On December 30, 2010, two Petersburg triathletes, Schorez and Olga Alexejewna Dmitrijewa , were awarded the title Master of Sports / International Class ( Мастер срорта России международного класса ). In 2010 Schorez took part in the German Triathlon Bundesliga and started for Triathlon SC Riederau .

In 2011 Schorez also belonged to the French elite team TOCC (Triathlon Olympique Club Cessonais) and takes part in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux , just like the elite legionnaires Zsófia Kovács , Zsófia Tóth , Aileen Morrison and Non Stanford . At the first two triathlons in Nice and Dunkirk, Schorez has not yet been nominated as one of the five starters.

Like Natalia Shliakhtenko lives Schorez in St. Petersburg, visited a sports elite school for the training of future Olympians ( Государственное образовательное учреждение среднего профессионального образования "Санкт-Петербургское училище олимпийского резерва № 1", г. Санкт-Петербург ) and is owned by the club Dinamo ( Динамо ). In August 2013 she finished fifth at the National Triathlon Championship. She started in the Triathlon Bundesliga for the Krefeld Canoe Club .

World Champion Aquathlon 2016

Schorez qualified for a place at the 2016 Summer Olympics, she started for Russia on August 20 in Rio de Janeiro and finished 25th. In September she became aquathlon world champion in Mexico. In her first start in the middle distance, she finished third in March 2017 in Taiwan. It has not appeared internationally since 2017.

In March 2018, the disease and treatment for leukemia was announced to her and that a bone marrow donor is now being sought for her.
