Mario Cardinal Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano (born August 12, 1903 in Piacenza , Italy , † November 9, 1988 in Rome ) was a Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Mario Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano was a nephew of Cardinal Giovanni Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano . After studying philosophical and theological studies in Rome , he received the sacrament of ordination on April 9, 1927 . Pope Pius XI appointed him his chamberlain in 1931 . His successor Pius XII. awarded him the title of papal house prelate in 1949 .

In 1969 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. Appointed Titular Archbishop of Antium and Prefect of the Apostolic Chamber . A few days later donated it Paolo Cardinal Marella the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Diego Venini , Almsman of His Holiness , and Alberto Scola , Bishop of Norcia . On April 28, Paul VI took him. as a cardinal deacon with the title deaconry San Giovanni Battista Decollato in the college of cardinals . He participated in the conclaves in August and October 1978. 1979 Pope named him John Paul II. While maintaining its pro hac vice to the titular church Title Diakonie elevated to cardinal priests .

He died after a serious illness at the age of 85 in a clinic in Rome. He was buried in Vigolzone , Province of Piacenza , in the church of S. Mario Martire , which he himself had built a few years earlier.
